U.S. Motorized Infantry in World War II were ground troops equipped with trucks and other vehicles to enhance mobility and support fast-moving armoured formations. Unlike mechanized infantry, which used armoured personnel carriers, motorized infantry typically rode in unarmoured trucks such as the GMC CCKW or Dodge WC series. Their primary role was to rapidly advance with tank units, secure captured ground, and provide flexible firepower and manpower during offensive operations.

Motorized infantry played a crucial part in campaigns across North Africa, Europe, and the Pacific, enabling the U.S. Army to execute fast, deep manoeuvres and exploit breakthroughs. Though vulnerable to enemy fire while in transit, their speed and adaptability made them essential to the U.S. strategy of mobile warfare.

On the wargaming table it can operate as part of a motorised infantry unit, helping to get infantry quickly into position, or a gun carriage, helping to move anti tank or artillery pieces around the battlefield.

The motorised infantry as well as being mobile, was deadly! It includes three HMG's which can loose 6 shots each into targets on the battlefield. Deadly against infantry and lightly or unarmoured vehicles. They can easily pin units and change the shape of a battle.

Just in case it is the enemy armour that is of most concern, there are three U.S. Bazookas, the most effective infantry anti-armour weapon of the war. In the hands of these highly mobile infantry meant they could very easily knock out a unit of Panzers before they knew what hit them.
